If you like Caribbean food and a good Sunday roast then why not head to Fenchurch Restaurant. This is where you will see that chef Kerth Gumbs has combined the two to create a New Caribbean Sunday Lunch.
We headed to the restaurant on Sunday to be one of the first people to try it and now I would definitely recommend. The menu is £75 and consists of a Mini Cocktail , a selection of Starters, a Main Course and a Dessert of your choice. This is a very generous sized lunch making it excellent value for money.

We made our way to the top floor of the Fenchurch building where you will find the restaurant. A warm welcome awaited us before being seated at our table. Once settled our waitress Wioletta started us of with the Mini Pina Colada Cocktail. This would be followed by the STARTERS that included Sweet Potato Milk Bread , Curried Lamb Pita and the Torched Yellowtail. Each one was delicious with the right amount of spice to create delicious flavoursome food.

Next to come was the MAIN COURSE and oh my please make sure you’re hungry. We chose the Free-range chicken supreme, brown stew, jerk chicken, fried wings, coleslaw and the Beef & marrow, 45-day aged strip loin, oxtail gravy, herb crusted bone marrow, shallot marmalade. These were accompanied by Ginger glazed carrots, roasted new potatoes , Gungo peas & couscous, spring greens and Yorkshire puddings. Both roasts were absolutely delicious but now we needed a little rest before dessert.

We then finished with DESSERT of an Anguillian classic with spiced coconut, raspberry, vanilla, chocolate caramel that was a delightful way to end a glorious sunday lunch.

We ended the afternoon with a coffee and Petit Fours that brought a fantastic Sunday Lunch to an end. This is an experience I would highly recommend and easily one of the best Sunday Roasts I’ve enjoyed. Yes it may not be traditional but with the Caribbean twist it’s an utter delight. I certainly can’t wait to return to this fabulous restaurant.

Thank You Kerth and all your team and look forward to seeing you again soon.
